I would like to hide/not show all the tasks from specific folders in the all tasks view. Is there a way to do that? I tried archiving the folder but that didn't work.

Sorry, but it isn't possible to hide certain tasks based on their folder. If you want to hide tasks, you'll need to use one of the filters, like -1 priority, context or deferred status.
