overdue task indicator?

I just upgraded my iphone app to 1.4.1 and saw a indicator appear over the icon with a red circle with a number 1... just like when you get new mail. Is this a new feature? If so, I do I get rid of it? I tried removing all overdue tasks, but it's still there.

If you go into Settings, look under "Application Badge".
