adding subtasks

Is there a way to add subtasks and link them with their main task (in my case projects) without having to work from the main task? I have a lot of tasks (projects) and often need to scroll way down to find the task before adding a subtask.

I suggest select a Sort order or create a Saved Search that puts that task near the top.

The only way to do this is via drag and drop. A simple way to isolate the parent and new subtask is with a common key word in both. So if your project is "Get Tires Replaced", make sure you use the word "tires" in the new task. Then search an appropriate view for "tires" and then drag and drop.
