Cloning tasks and using multi edit

When I clone a template of a parent task with 20 subtasks the new parent and new subtasks appear in the same view and all the fields in both tasks are identical. Is there a way to do a multi edit only on the new cloned task to identify it as a new task without changing the template also?

Click the action arrow on the clone
Click Permanent Link
Click Multi Edit
your original will be unaffected
