I am surprised that this hasn't been prioritized higher. People use the task notes all of the time, and the lack of rich text is very surprising.
I don't think that adding it for "Notes" over task notes makes sense as I imagine that tasks are used FAR more frequently by your users.

Thanks for the feedback. We still plan to add rich text for both Task notes and the Notes section.
