I've just registered and am considering using toodledo as my my main to do list.
But, I can't get it to work in any useful manner on my Windows Mobile device (HTC TyTN 2, WM6.1) neither the /slim or /html page work at all in the Opera 6.7 beta browser and the /html page just barely works in IE. I found a post on this forum from last May asking about this ... is there any work happening on getting toodledo working for Windows Mobile? Toodledo looks like just what I need but it's not really that useful if I can't access my todo's while away from the office. |

For WM, the best browser for using Toodledo is Iris: http://www.torchmobile.com/
It is also just a great browser, and free. Skyfire also works with Toodledo, but it is not ideal for a number of reasons. ~Anders |

I can't see using this when I want to make a quick todo or quickly check my list. I'm not sure I understand why 99% of other sites work wonderfully with Opera -- including pages using ajax and all the other acronyms mentioned on the toodledo home page -- and toodledo doesn't... Is there a native WM client available? |

There is not a native WM app. I heard that someone was working on one a while back, but that seems to have faded away. Pocket Informant which syncs with Toodledo for their iPhone app has said that they plan to add Toodledo syncing capability to their WM app, but they have not given any timeframe.
As for Iris, I find it to be faster than IE, and about equal to Opera, but I have heard others say their experience is more like yours. You can speed the browser up considerably by disabling the animations it uses for links, page transitions, etc. From the Iris FAQ page How do I disable all of these animations?
Using a registry editor for your phone, such as Mobile Registry Editor, set the key \\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\IrisBrowser\AnimationsEnabled to false. This message was edited Jun 23, 2009. |

We are sorry that Toodledo's various web pages don't work on WM6. The problem is that we are a small company and cannot afford to test on every mobile browser / phone combination that exists. There are just too many phones to buy and hook up to monthly service. This is something that we hope to improve in the future, but for now the Iris web browser seems to work for people.

Also, when you are simply trying to add a task quickly, Toodledo's email features are very nice, and quicker than any browser. If you have not checked those features out yet, look here: https://www.toodledo.com/info/help_email.php

You can disable some of the effects in the Iris browser which can increase the speed quite a bit. You might want to google it.

That does speed things up. I'm still surprised that toodledo requires Iris though. I've downgraded to Opera 9.5 and it still won't load properly. Seriously, other than websites that use flash I haven't had any troubles using Opera with any other site so I'm not sure what's so different about toodledo. I'm still not pleased with the Iris user experience so I guess I'm stuck. I am Pocket Informant user on WM so maybe I'll have to wait until they get around to adding sync support. Thanks again for your help. |

I'm sorry too ... the http://m.rememberthemilk.com site works well in all the browsers on the WM device but your feature set is a much better fit for me so I would prefer to use toodledo. I was quite excited to find your site but am kind of stuck if I can't view the todo's on my device. Thanks anyway. |

I've been using http://www.toodledo.com/slim on Opera 9.5 on my HTC Touch Diamond, and have had absolutely no problems. Works great.

If I turn off Mobile View in Opera 9.5 toodledo/slim does work! I had tested it both ways in version 9.7 but not in 9.5. I should have tested it because the main reason I reverted to 9.5 was that Mobile View was broken in 9.7. This is good. It's not like having my info locally on the device but it's a big step forward. Thanks! |

Also thanks to jdew for pointing out the necessary view settings. Unfortunately, this does not seem to work on every device, at least not on my HTC Touch Pro, which is obviously very weird because it is so similar to the Diamond. Anyway, I have grown to like Iris quite a bit, so as long as it's working for you guys, that's great. I still think a mobile capable Opera widget would be a great solution. |
