How to go back to the old Notes or Fix the search

Hi, I'm pretty frustrated with the new notes layout as it seems to completely have broken search. The only way I can find any of my notes is to go to FireFox (I opted to use the new notes in Chrome) and view notes in FF using the old Notes view.
This is a serious disruption to my work. Maybe I'm missing something in the new layout?
Could you please advise?

To search for a note in the new Notes section, click the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen. Then in the search box that appears you can type in the word you are looking for. As you type, any matching notes will appear in the sidebar on the left side of the screen. If the sidebar is hidden, you can reveal it by clicking the blue arrow at the top of the ribbon on the left side of the screen.
