Auto-Update to Today function not working

I reset the Overdue Tasks setting to "auto-update to today" but it is not working. All of yesterdays (and other past dates) remain in the past. Anyone else having this problem? Is it working for anyone? Is there an additional setting I need to change to make this work? Thanks!
