How to represent "this month" et al in search filter

NOTE: This question also applies to representation of "this week" or "this year".
I'm trying to replicate in the web client the "date" display choice in the "View Tasks By" 'page' of the mobile app.
i.e., I want to be able to show events whose due date is in the current week.
I cannot detect a way to do this: I can't do it with specification of number of days even with AND/OR conditions.
This can't be the first time this has come up, so I'm hoping someone has a solution and can help me out.
