subtasks and totals

Please forgive me if this is mentioned elsewhere. I didn't see it.
When I add the length of time to a subtask it does not show up in the total. (Total Estimated Lengths: 0)
Shouldn't the total amount of the sub tasks automatically tally for that field in the parent task?

Currently, the only field that is linked between tasks and subtasks is the folder. There have been requests to have the length field be automatically calculated like you have suggested and there have been other requests to have the due-date and start-date of the parent be calculated based on the subtasks. We have not implemented any of these suggestions yet, but we may give people the option of using this behavior in the future.
