In firefox, my cursor bounces around while I'm typing in the textbox and the crlf don't always work.
Why couldn't you leave well-enough alone?

We have not changed the note textbox in many months. Your Firefox browser must have changed. Perhaps a misbehaving plugin, virus or something. Try restarting Firefox in safe mode.
