I'm wondering if you would be able to create an export that had not just the tasks, but related tables and categories all as a single SQLite database. There are lots of 3 party tools that can read this file format and it'd make me much more comfortable to have a "snapshot" of the tasks accessible this way. - Clark

Seems like the kind of thing one could build (assuming the API supported the right interfaces) using a tool like Talend Open Studio (open source-- from www.talend.com).
