Some time in the last few weeks, the Toodledo widget for Android stopped refreshing. Even after I sync Toodledo (the app), then open the widget, it's not updated. I have to replace the widget with a (new) Toodledo widget.
Also, when I mark a task complete via the widget, it does not disappear from the widget.
I'm using the current version of Toodledo app & widget for the current stable Android (Pie) on a Pixel XL.
This problem existed BEFORE I upgraded to Pie.
I'm also using the current version of Action Launcher, not the baked in Pixel Launcher.

I suspect this is a bug.
A little help?

There's https://www.toodledo.com/tasks and https://tasks.toodledo.com/.
There seem to be differences between them - at least insofar as the CSS that they use is concerned.
What's the functional difference?
Is one the 'beta' and the other the 'stable'? If not, then what?

A couple of updates:
* Links in task notes now open a new tab/window. YAY! Thanks!
* To those looking to use Stylish: the mod I use I developed myself; it's imperfect still, but if I ever get it right, I'd be happy to post it somewhere appropriate.
* About ['s in tasks - I too get just a plain [. No idea how it might be that it's triggering a star.

Logging out/in didn't help.

Note: I'm getting the same problem at home, after having restarted Chrome due to a Chrome update.
The new version of Chrome is Version 59.0.3071.29 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)
Can check at work, but I *know* I'm not running the beta at work.

As for error messages, yes, there are some - here's what I get:

Update: At home, on a Mac Air running Sierra and the latest Chrome, tasks.toodledo.com works fine as of 5pm EDT.
The problems were going on all day today (up to 3pm EDT) on my iMac at work, running El Capitan and the latest Chrome.

This morning, tasks.toodledo.com stopped loading. It would get to 35% or maybe 45% and then just zone out.
I'd go back to http://www.toodle.com/tasks.... and everything would be fine.

Is this a bug, a feechur, or something else?

I note that there are differences in the UI depending on which URL you use, and I quite frankly prefer tasks.toodledo.com.

Adrien,
I usually let some time pass. Indeed, at home, I almost NEVER quit the browser. And yet I get that problem when I come to work.
I know where you're going - the browser needs some time to sync tasks to the server.
The thing about that is that this is all new (mis)behaviour since the new UI was introduced. Everything sync'd right and fast in the ol' days.

As of now (17:58 EDT 25 April), I'm getting a problem with tasks that are optionally due and repeat daily.

Here's an image of the problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/axspd7t9w1d9gf2/TDrepeatbug.png?dl=0

The tasks in the image have a listed deadline of "?Yesterday" and a daily repeat.
My understanding is that those tasks should have automatically rolled over and be due "?Today".

I tried reloading the page, but the problem persists.

Follow-up: I'm having sync problems between different machines.

Here's an instance. This morning I did some changes to TD at home (Mac, Sierra, Chrome - all latest stable versions). At work, on another, similar Mac, none of the changes from that morning appeared. I updated. Then I did some more changes. Now I'm back home and the changes I did at work aren't here either.
In all cases, I tried a hard page reload, but to no avail.

I have noticed this problem is minimized (perhaps even eliminated) by doing a hard page reload (on Mac Shift-Apple-R) *before* leaving a particular computer.

There's clearly something off with sync.

Currently, in the calendar, each day has a badge showing the number of tasks due that day.
This can - for some people - be a little misleading; for instance if on one day I have a single really important & onerous task, and on the next day I have 10 unimportant & easy tasks, I might get the impression from the calendar that the first day is really light.
I suggest an option that enables cumulative Importance rather than number of tasks be shown. I think that would go far to improve the usability of the calendar for people like me who use it to help balance the workload across multiple days.

Fair enough. It makes sense that Chrome would have a hand in this. Will investigate Chrome settings.

Evernote:// links are working again.
A number of other bugs I'd reported on 2 April also seem fixed. Thanks very much for that.

Item #5 of my original list is still happening.

Another problem: Used to be on the Mac version that I could have links to apps - like evernote:///view/31.... - and those would open the app. This seems broken now.

I'm using Toodledo in Chrome Version 58.0.3029.41 beta (64-bit) on MacOS 10.12.3. Here's what I've noticed about the new layout so far.

1. Different URLs (www.toodledo.com vs tasks.toodledo.com) lead to different pages being rendered.

The rest of these apply to tasks.toodledo.com only.

2. Sometimes, when adding multiple subtasks to a task, TD complains it's offline, when in fact it isn't.
3. One of the columns (in my case, Modification Date) disappears once in a while and I must reload the page to make it appear again.
4. When adding subtasks in order a,b,c, they are initially rendered in order c,b,a.
5. A link in a note to an app (e.g., evernote://....) used to open the app directly. Now, it opens a browser tab, and then opens the app; the leaves an empty tab on the browser.
6. Sometimes, a task marked completed reappears as if incomplete on a 'r' refresh. After a time, a second 'r' correctly marks it completed.
7. The CSS styling is still incredibly weak. I use Stylish for Chrome to inject extra CSS to try to clean things up a bit.

However, I must say, the guts of TD - it's most basic functionality - still outstrips any other comparable task manager. So at least there's that.

Coolexplorer,
Well... If importance is a personal thing (and I don't disagree, necessarily), then why is it calculated by a fixed formula in TD?
In any case, the one thing I wasn't clear about in my previous post was that there must certainly be a setting to turn the feature on/off, so that users at least have the choice.

On the Web platform, I can sort a view 3 ways. That is very useful to me.
Ditto in the android app.
But on the android widget, there appears to be only a single sort order.
The result is that my tasks look different on the widget than in the app.
Kind of defeats the purpose of the widget, wouldn't you say?

So, when will multiple sort orders be added to the android widget?

Following up, here's a specific mod I'd like to suggest adding to the importance calculation: a measure of the effort a task is expected to take.
This can be done by using the Length field. One may argue that the longer the task, the more effort has to be put into it.
I should think that, all else being equal, a task that will take 6 hours to complete should be treated as more important than a task requiring only 5 minutes to complete.
You might use the same strategy as is done to build due dates into the importance calculation.
You can scrape the database to get a distribution of number of tasks, and devise a mapping to convert actual length into some integer value to be added to the importance calculation.

Hi,
I know about the formula used to calculate Importance; I think that's very useful.
I would like to request, however, that other fields be added and allow users to select which fields are used to calculate importance.

In my case, I sort certain undated tasks based on modification time and choose tasks to do that I haven't worked on in a long time. So, currently I sort first by importance, and then my mod time. But the ordering is NOT the same as if importance *included* mod time.

Thanks in advance.
