The dev(s) for the application need to fix their app and use the API more efficiently. Upping the account limit would only mask poor API usage. I'm the main developer for the TaskSurfer Mac app, and one would have to add more than 100 tasks in an hour before getting that message (I forget the exact number, but it's a lot).

TODO will display a list of tags, and allows deletion of tags (one touch per tag).

On the Mac, TaskSurfer (which I'm the main developer for, so take it FWIW) offers the same functionality. It's a little more pricey than TODO at $35, though.

If there was an announcement of this, I must have missed it. I understand that Toodledo doesn't wish to support the 1.0 API anymore, but the sudden removal of SSL has me rushing out a fix, and anyone buying the app through the Mac App Store has to wait for Apple approval before they can get the fix.

I hate to complain about an API that is free for developers to access, but unannounced breaking changes make me unhappy.

For those looking for subtask support, please see the new thread in this forum: https://www.toodledo.com/forums/8/9124/0/tasksurfer-v11-mac-os-x-client-now-with-subtasks.html

And thanks for the feedback, it raised the feature up the priority because of the number of folks here and elsewhere stating that it was important to them.

TaskSurfer, the Mac OS X task management app that supports Toodledo syncing, has been updated with subtask support. For those that were waiting for this feature, the download is on the product page: http://www.frostydogs.com/tasksurfer

(I don't mean to spam the forum with product announcements, but the only other TaskSurfer thread is the request for beta testers from four months ago.)

TaskSurfer has hit release candidate status, and the beta is now closed. Thanks to all who signed up, filed bugs, and offered feedback.

For those looking for a Mac OS task management application that syncs with Toodledo, you can soon download the 14 day trial or purchase online at the TaskSurfer website: http://www.frostydogs.com/tasksurfer/

I dug around a bit (including the XML that comes back from getTasks), and didn't see that locations are accessible in the API yet. Is that correct? I can imagine I'll have beta testers asking about this really soon. :-)

Task Surfer fully supports all of the Toodledo features found in the free version (of course, pro features will be coming later). It also supports all of the data in both free and pro versions. That means two-way synchronization for either version, Task Surfer will just ignore what it doesn't support (such as subtasks).

Along with online synching, Task Surfer gives you the niceties of a Mac OS X client, such as drag-and-drop, keyboard hotkeys, offline access, and quick task entry from anywhere. More information can be found at http://frostydogs.com/taskSurfer/taskSurfer.html.

To apply for the beta, please fill out the form at http://frostydogs.com/tasksurferbeta/tsbeta.php. Note that Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is required. The beta should start rolling out around the first of August, and selected participants will be notified shortly before the beta starts. Depending on a lot of things, the beta may be expanded, so feel free to pass this on to folks you think might be interested.
