But it's confusing because a repeating task that's created on the iPhone and not yet synced will repeat immediately in the iPhone list as soon as it's marked as completed. Tasks that were previously synced with the web just get marked as completed and don't repeat until the next sync.

I exported using the earlier 4.x Palm Desktop version on another PC and it worked fine. Only issues I noticed were that tasks without dates got a future 2031 year, and recurring tasks were not set as such. Both issues can be corrected manually after the import.
