OK . . . I went with a paid plus account on monthly basis to give it a go.

Thanks for the response. I may have been using the old site. I'll try the URL you suggested. -- Carl

I guess the lack of even one answer to my question, unfortunately, tells me all that I need to know. This is dying product with a very limited number of remaining users, and not much going on in terms of future development. I had hoped otherwise. -- Carl

I'm an old Toodlledoer but got impatient during the time when we had one new owner, with lots of promises, replaced by another new owner with lots of promises. I've been using Todoist now for a year or so. It's OK, but I would prefer an updated, improved and stable Toodledo. I recently download the beta iPhone app, and it appears to be a major improvement over the old one. Can someone tell me what improvements have been made in the web version in the last year, and if it's more stable. I was having stability problems and some very inconsistent behavior when trying to make changes to entries, particularly when trying to change one parameter on more than one task at a time. Thanks for any input you can give. -- Carl

Just a quick report of what I think is browser-specific glitch: Today I tried to do some batch changes using the mouse-click-L method. When I tried this in Chrome the old layout appeared, and the batch update failed. I cleared the cache and still experienced the problem. However, as soon as I switched to another browser (Pale Moon, which is a Mozilla-based browser) the new layout appeared and the batch update worked just fine.

This good news. I’m using another program, but if Toodledo returns to its former glory and the iPhone app starts to work again, I’ll come back.

It looks like it’s a dead product. Nothing from the developer now in quite awhile. This is a bad sign. If it was still being worked on, we’d be at least getting an occasional update, if only to say, “We’re sill working on the updates, bug fixes, app improvements, but it is taking longer than we anticipated.” Or, something along those lines. The deafening silence speaks volumes. The only other possibility that I could see is that they are in negotiation with another company that wants to purchase Toodledo to use some of its better elements in another To Do service. I think Toodledo as we know it is dead in the water. I hope that I’m wrong.

Posted by cjdenbow: I still have a paid account, which I’m paying on a monthly basis. I have not used Toodledo in several months, mainly because the interface with iOS is still not reliable and seems to be totally stagnant. There are also some things on the web interface that are not working, which I’ve submitted trouble tickets on, with no response. In the meantime I’ve been using Nozbe, which is pretty good. There are some things in Toodledo that I prefer, but I won’t wait much longer. I’ll give them another month or two, and then I’m out of here. The lack of responses recently, despite the name of this thread, seems to indicate that they are not really back. It has all the telltale signs of a dying product, which is too bad, as it was once a unique and very useful product. I hope that I’m wrong, and that they are really working behind the scenes and will soon re-emerge, but I wouldn’t bet on it. I'm curious as to why you would keep paying every month, if you are no longer using it, rather than stopping your subscription and then restarting it if it looks like Toodledo are going to start working on the product and supporting it. Two reasons: 1. Inertia, 2. Giving them just a little support and hopefully a little incentive to continue their work. |

I've been using RTM on a month by month basis hoping that Toodledo would get the needed improvements and fixes. Today I came back to my Toodledo account, which had laid dormant for a few months. I still have an active Plus account. I tried to do a batch update of due dates using the new "Control L" command. Everything seemed to work. I got the message saying you are about to make changes in "x number" of tasks. I clicked "OK," and it executes; however, no actual changes are made. At first thinking this might a glitch in a specific browser, I tried two more browsers -- Chrome and Firefox -- and I still could not actually make batch changes. Obviously this function is broken. I would appreciate a quick fix to it. I like the proposed changes and the direction that has been announced to Toodledo over the next six months. I'll come back to it, if this problem is fixed ASAP. I assume that the management reads these posts. -- Carl

Score: 0
It would be a nice enhancement if it were possible to rearrange the due dates of tasks by simply dragging and dropping them to a new day. This was possible in the todo program that I was using previously. It had other limitations that I didn't like, so I moved back to Toodledo, after several years of trying other alternatives. To me the lack of this "drag and drop" feature is a serious limitation. Any chance it will be included in an update any time soon? Thanks. -- Carl

This problem seems now to have resolved itself. When I went back to my task list, the light red color was only present on those tasks that are due within the next week or so. The light red color had disappeared from the tasks with no date, and the tasks with later dates. Not sure what happened, but it looks OK now! -- Carl

After using Nozbe for a few years, I made the decision a few days ago to come back to Toodledo. The main reason was flexibility. With Nozbe, I was hemmed in to doing things their way, not my way. I think all of us have some unique ways we want to organize our todo lists, tasks and projects, and Toodledo allows me to do that.
Now, my question: After reorganizing things in Toodledo, including some imports viaa CSV file, I find that in what appears to be a random fashion some of my tasks are in a light red color. This is different from the darker red that indicates a task is due today. These lighter red tasks are not ones due at any particular time (some have no due dates at all), they are not exclusively ones that were imported rather than hand typed, or ones that are left over from my previous use of Toodledo. I had keep a free account open during my years with Nozbe, so I had some long range and continuing stuff already in my Toodledo account. So, why are some tasks in this light red color, and how can I get them back to regular black? Thanks for any help you can give me. Carl. |
