Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. However as for ToodleTask I do not get it. When I install it I get standard shortcut that opens ToodleTask menu. Only when I close ToodleTask menu I can input the task. This makes little sense....

I checked and there is no widget for ToodleTask. Under my Action Launcher I do not see any shortcut for Toodletask either... What am I missing?

EDIT:
Nevermind. I made one more attempt at DGT. I finally managed to get it to work. I can use DGT to instaadd task. Additionally it automatically backups my tasks just in case something goes wrong. Love DGT for those two functionalities. Although I prefer browsing tasks in native Toodledo app.

EDIT 2:
Started playing around with IFTT and it also works. It is possible to create a simple button that works just for adding tasks in toodledo.

Hi,

I am trying to set up my phone so that I am able to add tasks on android with one touch of a button. Native toodledo app does not have shortcut that would allow to do something like this. Best you can do is to open the app and then add task. These are two clicks.... I know this is not that big of a deal but for me it sometimes makes a difference if I write something down or not...

In the past I used to have DGT installed which has precisely such shortcut. Unfortunately after switching to new phone I cannot force DGT to work correctly. It produces an error message that it does not has storage right access and cannot sync because of it....

Any ideas?

best regards,
Kordi

Question:

For the official Andorid app - is there any workaround to be able to add task with single stroke of a button?
With DGT I am able to create a shortcut to add a task. I press it and add a task window appears. This is great for capturing things when they just pop into my mind. With native app I have to open app and then add the task. One click more - but this one click makes all the difference between using the app and ditching it.

For now I think I will use a workaround and have DGT and native app installed. I will use DGT for quickly adding tasks and native app for brwosing it.

Native app thoughts:

I have just downloaded it and I must say I love it. Layout is clean, clear and simple. It has all the options it has to without making things overcomplicated.

Like some people above I have been using Got To Do and later DGT. Got To Do was really the best Android app for me for a long time. DGT I use now but to be honest I hate its interface. Adding filters is counter intuitive and always confuses me... On top of that DGT does not allow for hiding future tasks!!!! although I reported the idea to the developer like ages ago. Come to think of it I start to wonder why I even switched to DGT from Got To Do ;)... and the short anwser is it has great automatic backup options and the mention shortcut for adding tasks instantly. Other than that the app makes a lot of things more complex than they need to be.

I have another suggestion.

Please add an ability in IFTTT to add files from dropbox to toodledo for Gold users. I would really love to use toodledo with files but your webpage interface is a little clumsy and lacks ability to add files from mobile devices. If I had option in IFTTT I would mostl likely buy gold subscription.

Yeah, all is great and all... but I am really not interested in paying 65 bucks for a program that I would use only for adding To Do's... And I really do not think I need it outside of this functionality. I work mostly with: browsers, Excel and Outlook. Both opera and Excel support customizable keys with no problems. Outlook is a little more limited in this regard, yet I really do not feel like I need custom shortcuts for outlook.

BTW.
I got my first computer 22 years ago... so no, I am not impressed with your score....

Still not working.... Sorry, but I give up. All in all this is to help me be more productive. I am not going to spend any minute longer on it. I prefer to pay extra few bucks for task angel and find some backuping program. This should be much easier....

As for option 2. I don't like it at all and don't even consider it.

As for option 1. I did everything that was specified in the link. Still when I try to add the task with launchy nothing happens.

Things I did differently are: tucl location, I had to put it in my documents, as I don't have access to C:/ folder on computer that I use. And I have Java 6 not 7 on my computer. Any ideas what might went wrong?

I asked this question in another thread, but maybe I will get anwser faster in here. Is there a way to customize shortcuts in TaskUnifier and to quickly add a task with a shortcut when task unifier is hidden in system tray.

This is a question for windows 7.

Hi,

This is my first post here. I want to but task angel or task unifier. My problem is that each one has options that are crucial for me that the other does not. Maye someone will help me to find an easy work around to one of these functionalities.

1. Task angel - it has custom hotkeys that I can use when the program is minimize into tray. It's a brilliant functionality when you have to add something lightning fast to your inbox.

2. Task unifier - it creates a schedule to archive your tasks, and what is most important, you can choose how many copies it keeps. Task angel keeps only recent copy and one before, which is not enough for me. I want to protect myself from the scary vision that one day one of my devices clears all my tasks and other apps will sync with my empty toodledo account before I notce that smth. is wrong.

Any ideas how to overcome any of these problems? This would make my decision really easy.
