XML is the best way to back up data?

Hi there
I back up religiously every week: I do: 1. A full account account backup 2. CSV backup (because I can read this most easily - XML is difficult to read) 3. An XML backup because next to this tool, Toodledo says it is the best way to back up data here. Why does it say XML is the best way to backup please? Thanks Max |

Why does it say XML is the best way to backup please? Because of the next sentence: "This will export all of your tasks (completed and uncompleted) along with all of their information (including notes, and subtasks)."http://www.toodledo.com/tools/connect_xml.php So, the XML file backs up your completed and uncompleted tasks in one file, instead of the two files for a CSV backup. And, if you restore from the XML file, the connection between your tasks and subtasks will be preserved. This will not happen if you restore from the CSV file. |

Great, thank you for explaining.

The best way to backup is to use our backup tool. This uses XML but exports more data than just tasks. If you use this backup tool, you don't need to do any other backups, unless you want the CSV for readability in Excel.

Thanks, I do all 3 backups for readability and ease - just wondered why XML was recommended. I understand now, thank you.

Notebook, and some account settings.
