Is there any way to show subtasks in my task list while hiding the parent task?

for my multi step tasks (task made up of subtasks), I make the parent task have a priority of -1 (negative priority). the subtasks themselves each have their own priority, start date, etc. Also, my parent tasks have status "active" while my subtasks are either "next action," "hold," etc.
you can easily toggle your view to include negative priority tasks or not, thereby hiding the parent tasks at will.
