Columns too wide

Is there a way to adjust the column width? If not, I'd like to request that they all be made narrower. There is a lot of white space, which requires horizontal scrolling, never a good thing.
I'm using Safari and Firefox, but I expect this isn't a browser issue.

Assuming you're in the grid format, click the second icon to the right of the Customize label (toward the upper right) to change the width. You can reorder them as well.
