My question is regarding the set up of new users (collaborators). Is there a way to start them out with a tailored setup (copy mine), rather than the vanilla new account setup? thx.

It looks like it would be a relatively simple matter for me to "restore" one of my "backups" to the new user, then just delete all the tasks. I am guessing that would leave all the settings, folders, contexts, and custom layouts and sorts in place. I have looked at the backup data, and don't see any readily apparent reason that that would not work. I realize it would not be officially sanctioned, but can you think of any reason to not try that? thx.

If you can do that, and you have multiple people to do it for, you could restore from backup for the first user, then take a new backup. You could then save off that backup to use as a pristine start for any other new users.
