Repeating Task even when previous task is not complete

I have set myself a goal to read 30 minutes each day. I therefore want to have a new task each day which I can then mark as completed at the end of the day.
I'm struggling with this however as a new task is only created when I mark the previous task as complete. What happens on the days that I don't complete the reading task? How do I get a new task created? Do I have to do this manually?
