Resetting repeat date

If I set a task to repeat quarterly and before that quarterly date occurs I change the repeat date to semi-annually, will the new repeat date be 6 months from the original-set date or 6 months from the date I changed from quarterly to semi-annually?

I believe the task generates a new task based on the settings of the completed task. So your task would repeat semi-annually from its due date, not the modification date.

I don't think modification date has anything to do with repeating tasks. Maybe someone knows better though.

I discovered it resets the task's due date (in my example, to 6 months out) as if it was a new task.
