Trashcan troubles

Hi everyone!
I've been trying to figure out how to delete a task and cannot get the trashcan function to work. I don't know if it's a bug or I'm missing something.
***UPDATE***
(I deleted most of the original post)
I figured out that the icons at the end of the task rows are not the same as the icons/functions at the top of the corresponding columns. Now that I know that it's fine but it's really confusing and not intuitive :-)
