How do you resize columns in a list

I created a list with 4-5 columns. 3 of these columns are text. Only the first column has a default higher width. The others have smaller width and there is no way to resize them. Usually UI applications give you capability to resize columns by dragging grids but that does not seem to be possible.
My objective is to see the content of all columns. Currently if I have more than 15 characters then I need to hover over it to see the entire thing.

Click on given column title, then small pop-up will appear where you can specify width.
