How do I shuff off Filters?

(I meant Shut ...)
I've just returned to Toodledo after using other list-making methods for a year.
When I try to open a new folder with new to do items, I get this message:
"All of the tasks in this list are hidden by filters."
Where are the filters hidden? What are they? and, How do I turn them off?
