I updated my iPhone 12 to iOS version 17.0.1, everything is working fine except for the Toodledo application.
When I move the due date on any Task, the iOS application just shuts down. It does perform the move, but then it quits. Please fix, thank you. This message was edited Sep 22, 2023. |

More information - it is happening much more often now, and happens any time I make any change to any task. So far, I have completely deinstalled/reinstalled the app on my iPhone. Which actually made things worse. Presently the iOS app is unusable. This needs to be addressed asap.

And more information - I have tested Toodledo out thoroughly with iOS 17.0.1 on an iPad 8G, no issues whatsoever. This is strictly an iPhone issue. Hopefully it's not just MY iPhone :) Seriously, the app is not functional on my iPhone, I need help getting this fixed ASAP, thanks.

We strongly recommend the Next Gen Toodledo app as a replacement for (or at least complement to) the Legacy app. You can find Next Gen app information (including installation instructions) here: https://info.toodledo.com/next-gen-mobile-apps
Note that you can safely install and actively use both apps: the Next Gen app can be installed and run side by side with the existing Legacy app without interference. You can access the same data in both apps by logging into the same Toodledo account in both. For those who require functionality not yet in the Next Gen app, we have pushed a version of the Legacy app to TestFlight for users experiencing issues. Here are steps to install an update to the Legacy Toodledo app: 1. Make sure the existing data in the Legacy Toodledo app is synced. If you don't sign into your Toodledo account and sync the data to the Toodledo service, it is at risk of loss. After signing in on the Toodledo app, sign into the same account on the Toodledo website from a computer to make sure you see your latest Toodledo data there before proceeding. 2. On your iPhone or iPad, open this link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/YwK9ZqJB (Have TestFlight open, but don't see the Legacy Toodledo app? If you already previously installed TestFlight , you can access the Legacy app installation inside TestFlight here. If you get a pop-up "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid", it's because you haven't first installed TestFlight.) 3. To make sure you get the latest updates as we push them out, make sure to turn on Automatic Updates: - Open TestFlight and go to the entry for the legacy Toodledo app. - Under App Information, turn Automatic Updates On. 4. Make sure you are signed into your Toodledo account in the app at all times (and verify that your current data appears when you sign into the same Toodledo account on the Toodledo website.) If you choose to continue using the Legacy Toodledo app for now, it would be very helpful if you dropped us a line to let us know which feature(s) currently missing from the Next Gen Toodledo mobile app are holding you back from migrating to using the Next Gen Toodledo app full time! We're at [email protected] . Note if you are using the Toodledo's Next Gen app, the TestFlight app entries and TestFlight settings for the Legacy app vs the Next Gen app are not the same thing. I just installed the Next Gen app. It’s only showing my repeating tasks for today, none of my non-repeating tasks. So rather than address my specific issues with the Legacy app, you’ve now added to my issues by offering an alternative that also has issues. None of this is acceptable or the kind of support that I am used to getting as a long time Toodledo customer. I’ll continue using the Web site as well as tasks.toodledo.com until you fix these issues on both platforms. And quite frankly, given recent management’s focus on getting customers to sign up for paid versions of the app, as well as this latest push to move to the Next Gen app instead of fixing what’s broke, maybe it’s time for me to look around for alternatives. Very disappointed in this response. Where’s Jake when you need him? :)

Update - I was able to get the Next Gen app to populate my Active List with non repeating tasks by logging out then back in. I will try to use the Next Gen app on my iPhone until the Legacy app issues with iOS 17.0.1 are fixed. I’m wondering if Toodledo has any intention of fixing these Legacy app issues, versus using them as a pretext to get customers to move to the Next Gen app. Please clarify, thanks.

Wait, I see that you’re offering a beta in TestFlight for Legacy app iOS 17 crashes. It’s kind of lost in that long winded response, sorry, my bad, I will install that app as well.

The is a problem with the Legacy app for iPad with the iOS 17 fix on Test Flight. There is no access to Notes. Please fix, thank you.
UPDATE - I figured out that if you select the orange “Tasks” in the black bar at the bottom, it then gives you other options like Notes. Not exactly straightforward but it works, so you can disregard this specific problem. This message was edited Sep 23, 2023. |

I’m able to access Notes in the Next Gen app for iPad, so I have a temporary fix until this is corrected in the Legacy app.

Update - the legacy app "fix" for iOS 17 does not work correctly. It still crashes out of the blue for no reason. But the bigger issue is that this “fix” has issues that the original legacy app never had. Tasks aren’t syncing, tasks can’t be deleted, tasks can’t be moved, notes don’t update correctly, and other similar syncing issues. There seems to be two ways to get everything in sync - either remove then reinstall the beta legacy fix via Testflight, or use the "Force Toodledo - Device Sync" option in the Toodledo app under Settings/Synchronization/Modify Account Login. These are both tedious and time consuming interim fixes to the larger issues at hand. Every time I have encountered an issue, I have submitted a report through TestFlight with the appropriate screenshot. From my perspective, the fix is worse than the original. It would be great if Toodledo could focus on fixing the legacy app “fix” to work correctly with iOS 17 before focusing more time energy and resources on the next gen app.

Update - I have decided to remove Testflight and all beta apps, and reinstall the original version of Toodledo from the Apple App Store. I know that it will crash occasionally, but at least the data is syncing and consistent across platforms. Moreover, I don't have the time to play with beta apps and troubleshoot Toodledo's issues for them. I found both the iOS17 patch beta for the legacy app, as well as the next gen beta app, problematic and having way too many issues relative to syncing that I literally lost count. I know that the original app will crash with iOS17, so be it, at least the data will sync and be consistent, that's all that I need for now. Good luck everyone, and especially to Toodledo with sorting out this mess.

Hasnain, etc. -
I have deinstalled all beta versions of your app on all of my devices, and removed Testflight as well. I am not going to install, test or troubleshoot a beta version of your next gen Toodledo app, or the legacy beta "fix" for iOS17. The beta "fix" for the legacy app that was patched for iOS17 has tons of issues that I have highlighted by way of many instances of beta feedback through the Testflight app. The beta next gen app is missing key functionality such as reminders syncing and other features, and the layout per task is a waste of space compared to the current version. I am going to use the existing production version of the current legacy app until such time as you either fix that app and release a production version of that fix, or release a production version of the next gen app. I will deal with the crashing of the current non-beta legacy Toodledo app until such time as either a production legacy update or next gen is made available. At least the data integrity and synching work correctly with the current version, I can live with the intermittent crashes. Not everyone is comfortable installing and using beta versions of important applications like Toodledo. Neither the legacy app patch nor the next gen app are ready for production. You can most certainly ask other users for their help in terms of testing, troubleshooting, providing feedback, etc. I just don't have the time to do that for you, sorry. I look forward to Toodledo fixing these current issues both in the legacy and next gen apps shortly. mlb32704 This message was edited Sep 27, 2023. |

In few words...
I have same issue as others w/ legacy app crashes after iOS 17.02 upgrade. Not going to deal with beta releases. THx for listening. |

Same. For all that it's worth, the app is read-only at the moment.
I'm not paying you to be your tester. I have an active subscription for years, and a working iOS app is among my primary requisites for using your service. If you believe your new thing has production quality, then release it on the App Store. Until then, what you call the "Legacy" app is, in fact, the production version of your service. By when can we expect a working app on iOS 17? |

I’m having the same issue as everyone else. App crashes after iOS update when edits are made to tasks (dates, status, checked).

This newer Next Gen app is stable and works well on iOS 17 at production quality. Thousands of users have gone far beyond "testing it" and have been using it as their primary (and oftentimes only) Toodledo app for several months with no catastrophic issues.
We're sorry to hear about your specific disappointment. The overwhelming majority of users (including numerous paying subscribers) who have installed the Next Gen app have expressed that they have been choosing and continue to deliberately choose it over the Legacy app every day. Although we are distributing it via TestFlight at the moment, we definitely recommend it as the primary go-to app for you over the Legacy build in the App Store. We have focused on iterating on features in there that are more important for our existing long-time (and important paying subscriber) Toodledo users (which is most useful for someone like yourself). Distributing via TestFlight for now enables us to keep prioritizing efforts towards that goal of best serving existing users like you in the most efficient and effective way. If you have an issue with the Next Gen app, please file a support ticket with the details of your issues. |

Thousands of users have gone far beyond "testing it" and have been using it as their primary (and oftentimes only) Toodledo app for several months with no catastrophic issues. Nice words. I can crash it with 3 clicks. Does not help to increase my trust at all. Although we are distributing it via TestFlight at the moment, we definitely recommend it as the primary go-to app for you over the Legacy build in the App Store. If you think the beta should be the primary app, then release it in the App Store. As long as it is in Testflight only, it is a beta. Distributing via TestFlight for now enables us to keep prioritizing efforts towards that goal of best serving existing users like you in the most efficient and effective way. Care to elaborate on that? For the end user, installing via Testflight is more of a hassle than through the AppStore - if corporate governance even allows you to use non-AppStore apps on the device. If you have an issue with the Next Gen app, please file a support ticket with the details of your issues. I did. Let‘s wait and see by when you will have a fix. All of these excuses make me believe that you have no intention of fixing the production app on iOS17. Is this really your intent here? |

Agreed with other feedback, my app keeps crashing after ios17 - super frustrating!
Will this be fixed? This simple question seems to be getting lost in Hasnein’s responses. Also agree that using some weird test flight thing as an lternative is sketchy. If it’s not available in the App Store, I’m not using it. This message was edited Oct 02, 2023. |

I just installed the test flight version. So far no issues. I will continue using it as my daily driver. I do appreciate continuing to support this app. I really rely on it. Would be nice to know the rationale behind the TestFlight release though. I agree with others. I’ve never used an app that required me to use over TestFlight. It does come across as a little sketchy.
