I want to export tasks matching a particular search, and then delete them. At a later TBD date I expect to reimport them. Essentially this is to archive a significant (hundreds) task set for an environment I will not be engaging with again for months or years and want out of my view in the meantime.
The documentation on export/import isn't clear enough to tell whether I can do this. The export options appear to be limited to all tasks, or tasks that were recently completed. I'm hypothesizing that I could export everything, and write a program to scan the file for what would match my query and delete everything else, but I'd like confirmation that that's the best approach before I embark on it.
I assume that tasks that are imported from text/XML/CSV files are added to the existing ones, but it's not entirely clear to me that an import doesn't actually replace everything instead, so that's another question.
