It would be great if one could star an item added via the Firefox plugin

I agree. This would be great. Also would love to star via email/sms.

This is a bigger concern for me based on how I have my Toodledo setup.

Star = Next Action for me and sometimes I will be forwarding and email that I know needs to be a "Next Action" but I can't. To prevent the task from getting lost in my master list of Individual Actionable Task, I default them to my inbox so that I can process it and add the Star.

This step could be skipped for many of my task if I could assign the start from the start.

I use star to add an item to my "Today" list. It would be huge!
