I am a big fan of Toodledo. I'm considering moving to Chrome from Firefox but I really like the "Toodledo this Page" feature available in the Firefox add-on. I don't think this available in the Chrome extension - any quick ways to replicate this feature?

Thanks!

We don't have a Chrome extension (I think there is a third-party extension), but once we make one, it will have the "Toodledo this Page" feature.

While not quite as elegant as the FF extension, this is the closest I've come:

BTW this is for Windows 7, can't vouch for anything else.

Chrome has a feature called "Application shortcuts", which let's you convert any webpage into a shortcut that opens in its own streamlined browser window. I created one for the Slim Add Task page (https://www.toodledo.com/slim/#_add) and sized the window as small as reasonable, and pinned it to the taskbar. (I also assigned a shortcut key combo, so that Ctrl+Alt+N will open it as well.

I usually keep a blank "Add Task" window open under Chrome. When I need to "Toodledo this page", I click the address bar and drag the address text down to the taskbar, which gives focus to the Add Task window, and then drop the text into the description or note. (also works for text on a webpage) For the dragging trick to work the Add Task window can't be minimized or closed. If you don't want to keep the Add Task window running all the time, you just launch the shortcut before you drag.

That's neat, @JPR. Thanks for the tip.

I've just started using Chrome regularly and would like the add-on too.

Chrome has multiple compatibility problems, and a lot less features than Firefox(documented/undocumented). Also, after a few days, may be the only reason to use it will vanish as well:

Though, nice trick there JPR!

I'm not sure what this website means - is it saying that the next version of FireFox will be as fast as Chrome?

Or may be faster! According to Sunspider benchmarks, Firefox 4.0's nightly builds are already having a faster Javascript engine than that of Chrome(Firefox hasn't beaten goo on its own benchmarks, of course ;) ).

Even though a browser is a lot more than just the "javascript shell", in coming world that's what is going to matter mainly, and that appended by Goo's poor implementation of Hardware acceleration (works great already in Firefox 4.0b) chrome is far lagging behind.

Anyway, this discussion was more suited for 'Off topic chit-chat' forum than this one.

Hi, i'm the author of the third-party Toodledo extension (ToodleChrome).

I've added the ability to detach the extension popup into it's own window. Don't think I can do anything about the "Toodledo this Page" function from the Firefox plugin though.
