I don't know what to click to start a to do list on here.

Click on "Add a Task" in the upper right corner.

Yes, I too had taken a whole 5 minutes to find that out. For the first four minutes, I had almost believed this website is just for seeing the tasks you added from all the other services, like add-ons, gadgets, widgets, and all :)
