Hi - are there any plans for native colorization of tasks, especially by priority? This seems like a pretty basic feature lack at the moment, or am I missing something?
Thanks, --Randy Starkey |

I don't think this exists, except as a "hack" of some sort. This would be one of my top requests for enhancement.

I have trouble seeing it as a "basic" feature. Can't think of another task manager that has that feature, though I imagine there probably are some. Certainly, I think of improving the interface, Saved Views, Star on Start Date, Star on Due Date, universal search, search and replace, upgrading tags, and probably 5 or 6 more I can't recall as being more "basic" than color coding. YMMV.

I think this sounds like a carry over from color categories in outlook... Is that what you are referring to?

If you use FireFox or Chrome, you can install a Stylish theme that will do exactly that.
http://userstyles.org/styles/37231 - highlights text based on priority http://userstyles.org/styles/25595 - changes text colour based on priority They are just a few of mine - there are heaps others here: http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/toodledo.com ...and you can either write your own or simply amend one of the existing scripts to make it what you want. Yeah, this would be a very nice addition.

Salgud - No task managers use color? Outlook tasks use colorization extensively. Outlook is pretty basic <g>.
PeterW - thanks for the scripts info. I will look into that as an alternative. Colorization is a long standing tool for item identification in every field of endeavor, relating to our visual senses as a supplement to just raw organization, so to me to not use color in an app such as this is just simply missing a major tool. Of course, there are many ways to implement color so some model would have to be chosen, at least for an initial implementation. Searching the forum produces most people commenting on this area desiring it quite strongly. |
