Simple XML Access?

So I have read the API. Fairly straightforward and nice to have.
Is it possible to access the API without requesting the token and etc straight from the URL in the browser?
Basically the browser is already authenticated and has an active session. it would be nice for testing to call the API from the browser without having to go thru the authentication hurdles (token, md5, etc), since the browser is already authenticated.
Is it possible to just do so from the browser?

We'll this is not what the API was designed for. If you want to get an XML file through your browser, you can use our XML export tool.
